چکیده
The perception of distances is crucial in both the real world and virtual environments. However, can be incorrectly estimated latter one, they affected by technological human factors. We created a environment to take step toward understanding this phenomenon. assessed egocentric distance estimation skills 239 university students at 10 various between 25 cm 160 15 intervals. A desktop display was used 157 students, while Gear VR 72 students. effects following factors were analyzed: gender, height, dominant arm, previous experience, gaming hours per week, whether participants wore glasses, their field study, device. Logistic regression analysis performed assess influences on probabilities accurate estimates, linear conducted examine times. results show that except for glasses estimates along with times themselves.

Virtual Desktop Display Acceleration Technology: RVEC
Virtual desktop services have been attracting attention due to their ability to improve data security and reduce the operation and management costs of personal computers. A virtual desktop is a desktop environment virtualized in a cloud that can be accessed remotely and used in the same way as a conventional desktop environment. It thereby eliminates the need to store information on a client te...

The major approaches towards kinematic calibration are uniied by considering an endpoint measurement system as forming a joint and closing the kinematic loop. The calibration index is introduced, based on the mobility equation, that considers sensed and unsensed joints, single and multiple loops, and that expresses the surplus of measurements over degrees of freedom at each pose. Past work usin...

Large–display environments like Reality Center or Powerwall are recent equipments used in the Virtual Reality (VR) field. In contrast to HMDs or similar displays, they allow several unadorned users to visualize a virtual environment. Bringing interaction possibilities to those displays must not suppress the users’ liberty. Thus, devices like DataGlove, wand or devices based on trackers should b...
متن کاملVirtual-audio Aided Visual Search on a Desktop Display
As visual display complexity grows, visual cues and alerts may become less salient and therefore less effective. Although the auditory system’s resolution is rather coarse relative to the visual system, there is some evidence for virtual spatialized audio to benefit visual search on a small frontal region, such as a desktop monitor. Two experiments examined if search times could be reduced comp...
متن کاملDisplay Techniques in Information-Rich Virtual Environments
Across domains, researchers, engineers, and designers are faced with large volumes of data that are heterogeneous in nature including spatial, abstract, and temporal information. There are numerous design and technical challenges when considering the unification, management, and presentation of these information types. Most research and applications have focused on display techniques for each o...
